Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

A Youth Parliament was organised by Ramjas School, Pusa Road on 31 August 2023. The event was held as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)initiative of the Government of India to commemorate the 75 years of Independence of India. Being the proud winner of the 54th Youth Parliament competitions held under the Directorate of Education the school held this special sitting of the Youth Parliament in its premises where a team of 47 students from class IX and XI donned the role of Parliamentarians and successfully recreated the ambience and working of a real Parliament.

Folk songs

Organised an Inter House Folk Song Competition called 'Lok Geet- United by Music'. The six Houses of the school presented melodious folk songs from states like Rajasthan, Bengal, Sikkim, Maharashtra, Punjab and Kashmir. The participants dressed up in the traditional consumes introduced the state they represented and sang to the beats of music. It was a celebration of melody and rhythm that stood as a testimony to the rich heritage of our country.

Wall Hanging Making

A Wall Hanging Making Activity was organised by Ramjas School, Pusa Road, on 14 August 2023, as part of the Independence Day celebrations, for Class 8 students. The activity aimed to educate students about the significance of the Ashok Chakra and its representation in the Indian National Flag.

The resource person, Ms Harvinder Kaur, explained ways of making the best out of waste, using materials like unused CDs, bio-degradable woollen and cotton threads and decorative material. The students were shown various samples by the instructor and under her guidance they created beautiful tri-coloured wall hangings.

Festival of Libraries’23 -Pragati Maidan

To celebrate the power of knowledge and creativity the students of Ramjas School, Pusa Road attended the "Festival of Libraries" held at Pragati Maidan on 6August 2023.

The event was inaugurated by President of India, Ms. Draupadi Murmu at the “Pages to Stages” panel.

A number of activities like Literary- Quiz, Author-Talk, Calligraphy, Magazine-making Workshop, DAAK-Room, Book-Mark, Writing -walls, Linguistic Canvas, Paint a Book- Shelf were organized for the students.

Our students participated in the Literary-Quiz and won a number of prizes. They enjoyed creating decorative art pieces to adorn walls and shelves, beautiful book-marks and posted post-card messages to their loved ones in DAAK-ROOM. It was a unique learning experience for them .

SPIE Optics Education Outreach Program

SPIE Optics Education Outreach Program 2023.

The SPIE Optics Education Outreach Program for the year 2023 was successfully conducted at Ramjas School Pusa Road on 07th August 2023.

The facilitators from Acharya Narendra Dev College,Delhi University, conducted this session for the students of Class X of the school. They emphasized on the importance of optics education and how it can open doors to exciting career opportunities in the future.

Nuclear energy

A riveting workshop for Class IX students was conducted by The Times Of India in association with NPCIL (Nuclear Power Corporation of India) at Ramjas School , Pusa Road on 7 th August ,2023 through a short video screening . The objective was to make them aware of the advantages and essential aspects of Nuclear energy.

An Inter House Art Activity for students of class VI to VIII on 20 July,2023 with the objective to make the students aware of the art work of the great artist

Vincent Willem Van Gogh ( 1853 - 1890 ) a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter and one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history.

The students were familiarized with his work which is characterised by bold colours, dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art.

Meraki: A Creative Expression.

It was a weeklong celebration that witnessed students of classes VI-XII participating in a wide array of activities, namely, Spell bee, Show & Tell, Poetry Recitation, Soliloquy, Declamation, Debate and Peer teaching to celebrate magnificence of the English language.

Show and Tell activity was organized for the students of Class VI, with the aim of enhancing their speaking skills and boosting confidence. The students of class VII zealously participated in Spell Bee: Word Wizard. It was a fierce competition as the participants battled their way through intense qualifying rounds. Poetry Recitation saw enthusiastic participation from the students of Class VIII exhibiting their recitation skills with perfect rhythm and intonation. With an aim to promote the love for the English language and to provide students with a platform to showcase their oratory prowess, the activity ‘Declamation: Words Have Power’ was organised for the students of Class IX. The students of Class X participated with enthusiasm and spirit in the activity titled ‘Soliloquy: Oration at its Best '. Each student presented a soliloquy from the much loved Shakespearean plays like The tragedy of Julius Caesar; Macbeth, King Lear, Hamlet, etc. Class XI students presented their arguments with passion and eloquence in Debate: Battle of Words on topics requiring in-depth research and creative thinking. Students of Class XII participated in Peer Teaching Activity, engaging in their own active learning and sharpening critical thinking skills.

3D mask making workshop

A 3-D mask making workshop was organised by Ramjas School, Pusa Road, for the students of class VII, on 28 July 2023. Ms Harvinder Kaur, resource person from The Hindustan Times conducted the workshop. The objective was to provide students with a creative and engaging experience, while exploring the world of three-dimensional art. The event offered them an opportunity to unleash their creativity and develop their artistic skills through the medium of mask making.

Workshop on Social Etiquette

With this objective in mind a workshop on “Social Etiquette”, was organised for class VI students on 26th July to provide the students with essential skills and knowledge to navigate social situations with grace and confidence.Ms Nalini James, resource person from The Hindustan Times newspaper, conducted the workshop and shared her valuable insights on the subject matter. In her interactive session with the students, she highlighted the importance of positive social conduct and the significance of body language and non-verbal cues in communication. Ms James also delved into techniques and manners to improve social communication and acquainted them with proper dining etiquettes.

AHWAAN (INTERHOUSE NUKKAD NATAK COMPETITION FOR SENIORS)

All the world is a stage! These famous words from Shakespeare’s play ‘As you like it’ hold true for the students of Ramjas school, Pusa Road. They don’t need a theatre or an Opera Hall to perform, they can bring alive any space through their mesmerising performances as they did on 26 July 2023. Chaitanya House was declared as the winners while the second and third positions were bagged by Sanghamitra House and Bharti House respectively. Principal, Mrs Surabhi Dua lauded the students for leaving an indelible mark on the minds of the audience through their flawless performance and motivated them to continuously make efforts to become responsible citizens.

CLASS VI TALENT HUNT, 2023

Keeping in tandem with the annual tradition of the school, Ramjas School, Pusa Road, organised a Talent Hunt for the new batch of Class VI students, on 21 April 2023. The event aimed to create a class spirit, encourage innovative ideas, build confidence and provide a platform to the newcomers to let their talents soar high.

ACTIVE BRAINS CLUB

Education makes you stand out among the commons but it is innovation that makes you a class apart and this is not a one day process, its seeds need to be sown at a tender age.

Driven by this belief , Ramjas School, Pusa Road in collaboration with Scienceplace has started an “Active Brains Club” for the students of classes VI-IX . The aim of the club is to motivate the students to be more innovative and to have a scientific and analytical mind. It is a 25 sessions in-campus program for school students designed under the guidelines and affiliation of VIPNET group of Vigyan Prasar, Government. The sessions include hands on workshops on innovative technologies like Astronomy

Robotics and Artificial Intelligence,

Smart Electronics and

Renewable Energy.

SHORT TREK

With an aim to build resilience,enhance adaptability and be one with nature, a trek to Sarahan in Himachal Pradesh was organised by Ramjas Sports and Mountaineering Institute . Twenty two students along with Mr. Hardeep Singh and Ms. Ruhi Verma of Ramjas School, Pusa Road, attended this trek. The five day trek from Halda Jubbar to Churdhar Peak began with a formal opening ceremony which was graced by the District Forest Officer Mr Ankit Singh. Mr Singh appreciated the efforts of the RSMI team , accompanying teachers and students in providing such a unique learning experience to the students.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about environmental challenges,to find ways to mitigate the devastating effects of climate change and bring about transformational changes in environmental policies worldwide .

For over fifty years the World Environment Day has been instrumental in making people conscious of the plight of Mother Earth and urging them to take constructive action.

Short Trek to Nag-Tibba

To provide a unique opportunity to explore, experience and learn from the awe-inspiring natural landscapes, a trek cum excursion was organized by Ramjas School, Pusa Road, for its students.

The three-day trek to Nag-Tibba located in the outskirts of the queen of hills “Mussoorie” which gave the students an insight into the glorious culture and the great riches of the area. The summit of this peak lies at an altitude of 9915 feet (3022 meters) from a distance of 5 kilometers and the Nag-Tibba base lies at 8530 feet (2599 meters).The steep and challenging climb to the Nag-Tibba peak via the Goat Village, in Tehri Garwal, Uttarakhand was an exhilarating experience for the students.

YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

In order to raise awareness about yoga as a holistic practice for physical and mental well-being Ramjas School Pusa Road celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day on 21 June 2023. The event was organised both offline and online to ensure maximum participation.A number of asanas like Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Hastapadasana, Trikonasana, Virbhadrasan,Ustrasana, Paschimottanasna, Bhujangasana, Balasana to name a few were performed.

At Ramjas School Pusa Road SUPW is considered an integral part of the learning process, which helps children to develop their creative faculties and diverse abilities, that lead to proper articulation between life and education.On April 6, 2023 the orientation session was conducted for Grade IX students.

Class VI Orientation Day

To apprise the new batch of Class 6 students and their parents about the functioning of the school, its policies, procedure and culture , an Orientation Programme was organised by Ramjas School, Pusa Road on 6 April 2023. The event began with an invocation of God by the school choir. In her welcome address the Principal, Ms Surabhi Dua introduced the School, its Vision and Mission and acquainted the parents and students with the glorious legacy of the school and its illustrious founder, Shri Rai Kedar Nath ji.

Workshop on Art Integrated Learning

Workshop was focused upon using art as a tool by the teachers teaching subjects like Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Computers etc. developing Art integrated lesson plans are important to instill mindfulness and creative thinking amongst students.

CBSE workshop: Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies

We at Ramjas School, Pusa Road, realise that education system is undergoing a major shift and as educators it is imperative to adapt to this change. In an endeavour to apprise the teachers of the latest educational strategies and to enhance their professional competency, a CBSE workshop on Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies was organized for them.

Prize Distribution ceremony

To acknowledge and celebrate the hard work, dedication and achievements of the students a Prize Distribution ceremony was organised by Ramjas School, Pusa Road on 1 April 2023. Books and Certificates were awarded to the meritorious students from each class and the highest scorers in each subject. Cash awards for the Best Class teacher along with the co-class teacher were also given away on this occasion. Students who displayed exemplary qualities during the year were awarded the Best Student Award from each section for their all round excellence.

Workshop on Workplace Mental Wellness

A workshop on "Workplace Mental Wellness" was organised by Ramjas school Pusa Road . The interactive workshop was conducted by Ms Roshni Mehta -Clinical psychologist from Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences,Fortis Hospital.

The highlight of the workshop was debunking myths about mental health issues. Ms.Roshini also stressed on the importance of identifying signs of distress , factors responsible for it and the need to discuss and seek help if required.

This year's talent show featured a wide range of performances including singing, dancing, short skits, nukkad natak, skating, yoga, poetry recitation to name a few. A theme was given to each of the 4 sections of class VI viz., “I Thank thee, O’ Lord”, “I Thank Thee, O’ Dear Elders”, “I Thank Thee, O’ Dear Mother Earth” and “I Thank Thee, O’ Dear Country.”

Ramjas School,Pusa Road organized an Inter house GK Quiz Competition ' *Quiztime'* for the students of Class IX,X and XII on 20 th April, 2023 . Six teams,one from each house participated fervently in this battle of wits . The competition tested the Learners'awareness about a wide range of topics.The questions were challenging yet thought-provoking and it was interesting to see how the participants used their intellect and reasoning skills to come up with the correct answers in the varied rounds like Identifying the author, Incredible India,Road Safety,Logical Reasoning,Rapid Fire and Audience Round.
